Ok this is not an advertorial post of any sort although I wish it is.
The other day I was having my first paper of finals and there was this girl who sat at the table next to me in the exam hall. And she had body odour. I literally had a hard time doing the exam coz of the smell. It was horrible.
What I don't understand was, why did she not use a deodorant? Does she not know that she has body odour? Or has she just gotten used to the smell? I'm really not sure.
Believe it or not, I used to have body odour when I was much younger, like 10 years ago. My mom would always complaint about the stinking body odour of mine but I just couldn't care less. The smell didn't bother me as much as it did to her, it fact, it didn't really bother me at all. I got used to the smell. Nobody other than my mom has ever told me face to face bout my body odour, so it didn't matter at all that I had body odour.
Of coz eventually I started using deodorant, not any deodorant, I used Rexona. And I've been using it for years now, every single day. I could never leave my room after a shower without having Rexona on. It's like the secret to my confidence.
Back to the topic. So, the girl I mentioned earlier in the exam hall, she was obviously a smart girl, otherwise she wouldn't even be in the Science and Engineering Faculty. She wasn't super hot, but she was beautiful non the less. My problem, or rather her problem, why doesn't she use a deodorant?
I sat next to her, with a distance, for two and half hour and it was a torture. I could hardly think straight. I couldn't tell her that she had body odour at the moment, coz we were in the exam for goodness sake. Even if we weren't in the exam, I couldn't tell her either, she was a stranger to me. I mean, I bet even her friends doesn't tell it to her, coz if they had, she would've been using deodorant already.
Sometimes it's just really difficult to tell someone in the face that they have body odour. I have a friend who has body odour for years now. I haven't got the courage to tell it to her face that she has body odour coz it might hurt her feelings and trust me, you don't wanna get involve with all the female dramas. So what I did was, I simply brought up the topic bout myself having body odour problem and thank goodness for deodorant, it helped. And I recommended the product I was using, Rexona.
End of the story? It was an epic failed. She didn't get my meaning whatsoever and she did not get herself started on deodorant either. I think that happens to many people out there. They're just so used to the smell that they don't realize they have a body odour, until someone comes along and tell it upfront to their face, hurting their feelings and embarrassing them. It's true. People don't learn until they get hurt/embarrassed, and then they'll hate the person who told it to their face. Marvelous.
Girls are suppose to smell nice. Guys like nice smelling girls, right? But when a girl has body odour, it doesn't matter anymore how pretty she is coz the smell is strong enough to chase a horse away! And there is no way the guy would come up to you and say it to your face "You should use deodorant, if not I won't date you out.". WTF!!! That will never happen in a billion years.
What I'm trying to say here is that, if you're the kind of person who sweats alot, or have cold sweats when you get nervous, just get yourself a deodorant. It doesn't matter if you really have a body odour or not, a deodorant helps reduce the production of sweat and you can avoid having gross sweat stains on your shirt while smelling nice at the same time.
You don't have to get expensive deodorants from brands like Calvin Klein or Dior (if they even have deodorant). You just need to get Rexona. It's simply affordable, and effective. Use it everyday, and believe me, it significantly reduces your body odour even when you're not using them anymore. Don't ask me how, but it just works.
Having body odour is nothing to be ashamed off. It's a medical condition; treat it, not ignore it. So please... Use deodorant. Use Rexona.

Wah. Really like an ad la. Hahaha. A very encouraging one. Probably someone will realise their problem after they read this. =)
i heard from my relative that the deodorant will block the perspiration and it's not good for us to use it .. isn't it? *just asking :)
xiowei:

im not sure. i heard bout that before too. but since Rexona is a well established brand with health certificate, i suppose it's alright? so far no medical cases on problems occurred with using deodorant. but im not sure bout this at all. LOL. i just prefer no smell than body odour.
babe ah.. deodorant with 'Aluminium anything' can cause cancer. thats why most of my friends n i stopped using also! =O
Yea, agree with you for the last quote. I used to have body odour too when I was a little girl around 12 years old. And thanks to my mummy who told me about my problem, and hence she started to introduce me using the deodorant.
It somehow reduces the odour if we did not use deodorant once in a while and again, I agree with you I got no answer on how this miracle chemical reaction had taken place on.
By the way, nice post!!
I think the girl sat next to you maybe just forgot to apply deodorant due to she busy prepared for the exam or she just finished up the deodorant and no time for top-up a new bottle? =) by the way, I am using Nivea.
I think most people do not know they actually have body odour - which I find weird. Cause I used to have it back when I was active in sports and sweat a lot and actually thought I stink! Hahaha, and from then on, I started using deodorant. I can never be comfortable if I know I stink, which makes me wonder why some people can!
jess:
omg seriously? i didn't know. i just checked, rexona got aluminuim anything. LOL.
jesyca:
haha ya... sometimes when i forgot to use, I also won't reek of stink!!! XD
lullaby:

melanie:
ya... i know... i think maybe they got used to it la. last time i also know i got a scent of smell, but i wasn't really bothered bout it. XDXD *paiseh*
Ya, I know how you feel, I have friends, female ones, who have the problem...but I don't dare to say it cuz I am afraid I will get my ass kicked eventually for embarrassing her. Like you said, I think the real problem besides getting used to the smell was that no one dared to tell them this fact, everyone is trying to be nice to them and trying to be nice ji mui, because I was brave to ask around ji mui of a friend of mine, which they say she doesn't have this smell, but their expressions were a bit forceful LOL.
and yes, the aluminium compound in the deodorant can cause cancer. Try not to use that often, the real problem for having bad odor is basically less exercise and eat a lot of MEAT. The thing is that if you don't exercise regularly, the toxic in the meat is released anyway through perspiration, it's either gonna be in normal daily life or during exercise, that's the difference. But of course, it's not only meat that causes the problem, I'm just generalizing it. Some people also have this problem because it's genetic.
chinhong:
y u don use ur google acc one? =.= eh, i know someone, she eat meat alot, and she exercise damn alot also. but still got body odour leh... it's the body itself la. some are born with it, and some are not. n btw, don't go tell ur female frens bout their body odour la. the last thing any girl want is a guy to tell them they stink. later u kena belasah i dunno one ar...
like i said, i din dare to say anything pun to the girl = =, and like i said, some are just born with it, it's genetics, but i am just generalizing that eating a lot of meat and exercising would cause the problem. I dowan to use the google account cuz....the name sucks, i don even know why i put that name years ago. = =
Yes ... I have a friend who has body odour and it is super awful ... I feel really bad if I don't recommend her using deodorant but I am really afraid she might be angry at me ... Well I had body odour too .. but thanks to rexona .. now my problem is solved woo hoo ~
