This is a long awaited post.
It's not news that the PC Fair was held just recently, don't ask me exactly when coz I don't know. And if your Facebook account is as normal as mine, your homepage would've been spammed by updates of PC Fair albums.
In these albums titles (PC Fair), all the pictures in it are of the PC Fair show girls. Non is of the gadget sold in the Fair.
My point here is that I think, (IN MY OWN OPINION SO LAY OFF WITH THE HARSH COMMENTS IF YOU'RE PLANNING TO LEAVE ONE W/O EVEN READING THE POST), that guys who take photos of PC fair girls are perverts.

Anyway, check out the pic above. I didn't bother doing anything to the pic or even upload it to flickr for better quality coz it's just so not worth my time, not my pic anyway.
Back to the pic. Can you see how many guys with a DSLR shooting those 2 show girls? I'll count for you, but let me know if I got the number wrong. 7?
Freaking 7 guys with a DSLR shooting 2 show girls from the same booth at the moment the picture was taken. So how many booth of brands are there in PC Fair? I'm thinking more than 10 right? So let's make it a mere 10 booth with show girls in PC Fair (Ya right, as if!), this means that at this very moment, there are a bout 70 guys with a DSLR taking photos of show girls in the fair! OMFG!
Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the show girls. In fact, I think they're very pretty and I envy them alot. What's not to envy? They're pretty, sexy, and they earn alot by just standing there looking pretty. What I have a problem with, is the fact that these guys bring their DSLR to the PC Fair for only one purpose, to take photos of the girls.
WHY do I have a problem with that?
- They do not work for the brand.
- They are not professionals.
- They do not get paid for the photographs.
- They do not buy products from the brand.
- They do not know the show girls.
- Some barely even know how to take decent photos with a DSLR.
I just don't get it. Why on earth are they even there taking photos of the show girls with their DSLR? Aren't they suppose to go shop for gadgets and not take photos of the girls? Why are they giving free promotion for the brand which they themselves don't even use???!!!
Simple. They are perverted. =.=" They want the photos for their own usage - to masturbate. (this is a joke)
In their defense however, people who loves photography loves taking photos of nice and beautiful things (which includes the show girls). But then this makes me wonder...
Are scenery and other objects not beautiful stuff too? How come I don't see these guys with a DSLR having an album in their Facebook titled "Beautiful pictures taken by me"? How come all they have are collections of PC Fair girls photos? From every year since PC Fair was ever invented or since they got themselves a DSLR.
I conclude my theory. Guys who take photos of PC fair girls are perverts.
Yes I'm just jealous coz no guys with a DSLR wants to take photos of me. That is why I'm writing this post. I'm just jealous. Yes. Now you can shower me with hate comments which are not one bit relevant to this post such as how ugly and fat I am. Thank you. =.="
In case you dunno, the previous paragraph was a sarcasm note by me. Geez, nowadays you gotta write what you mean coz some people apparently, just don't get it.

I think there is a need for me to clarify. I have nothing against these guys with a DSLR, I actually like their photos of PC Fair girls, coz I don't go to the fair but I still get to see pretty girls. I'm just a bit disturbed bout the fact that so many guys with a DSLR also go PC Fair for the sole purpose of taking photos of the girls.
Again I feel there is a need for me to add on. What I wrote in this post, are bout guys with DSLR, who have absolutely no other valid reasons of taking photos of the girls. Which means, guys who take the girl's photos for their own collection/to show off to their friend. Those that join contests, to learn, etc etc, are included in the category of those with valid reasons. So don't la get over offended by my post. I meant no harm. And to add on more, guys with DSLR also included those with digicam and phone camera, just that I didn't write it all out.
Seriously meant no harm, I have tons of friends with DSLR, digicam, handphone camera etc, who take photos of the girls too. Really just a post for reading entertainment. Peace.

Hahaha yes we guys love PC fair girls. We take photos of them, share them amongst ourselves and upload them onto facebook. However, using those photos to masturbate? Hahaha sounds ridiculously funny, preposterous even. No offence ya but those photos do "turn us on" but NOT in that "way", or anyway near "it". Well, not to me at least LOL! Overhead, we admire beauty as in beauty herself, regardless of whether in disguised of "hot" or "not". That's why we take those photos. So that beauty at least has a place to last forever! Or at least until someone deletes em' :(
LOL, btw, just need to add a short note. There is now a competition organized by one of the forums for the best photo taken in PC Fair and it's for the models sake, they also get to win something for being voted the best model in PC Fair.
I salute those who are taking part in the competition, but for those who go there just to take photos and bring back home to TFK, haha.. I've got nothing to say.
I haven't been to PC fair like ages (3 years) since nothing interests me there anymore.

Taking photos of nature or still object can be done anytime. But taking photos of models...well...models don't come cheap..so i guess they just enjoy taking it coz it's free...lol

Hey Junjunriko, just a thought, maybe those so called "perverts" do take pics of other stuffs too? I mean we won't know right..and maybe they have a blog and they're trying to increase their traffic by putting photos of sexy girls? Almost everybody does that now such as showing pretty girls pics with cleavage and what not..I'm not saying you're entirely wrong though. Cheers! :)

Well, some just want to show off their high tech Digital Single Lens Reflex, some are reporters who take photos for their newspapers and magazine, some people go there to have train themselves to use DSLR, others just love the girls.

Example, I went Pc Fair with my DSLR and saw my friend working as Showgirl.
So is like I went somewhere and saw my friend, then I take a picture of her/with her. And that make me a pervert?

First and foremost,this is not a flame comment. It's just my thoughts.
And yes, I am one of those 'perverts' that goes to PC Fair and take pics of the show girls. Hahaha..
Why do I do it? It's just for fun. I like taking pics and apart from pics of those pretty gals, I do take pics of landscapes too.
Why do we take pics at the fair? Simple, there are pretty gals there and it's an opportunity to shoot. Since we already have a camera and the opportunity is there, why not?
Taking landscapes pics are fine and good but not too many people have the time and the means to go all over the place to take these landscape pics. Real life gets in the way,you know.
Besides everyone loves to look at pretty ladies. The media uses pretty gals all the time. It works.
Look at the ads on TV or in magazines or billboards. They always have pretty ladies on them don't they? Pretty ladies in ads selling TVs, shampoos, detox tea and what not.
And when there are exhibitions, you can be sure the organizers will hire some pretty gals to be there.
It's just human nature. It's not wrong to appreciate beautiful things. And there are 'preverts' that don't carry cameras around too, you know? Maybe these camera-less perverts are the more dangerous ones? Hahaha... Since we carry such bulky cameras around you can spot us from a mile away and take cover before we even get close so no danger there.

Coz I just can't seem to get it why is it that they go to the fair, just to take photos of the girls?
Put it this way, i have a prob with those guys who just go to the fair, sole purpose is to only take photos of the girls so that they can keep it for themselves.
If you say, they went there to buy stuff, on the way shoot girls, ok la, still acceptable.

nice..well i like to go pc fair to take their pic as practice for my new job which is to take events,product launching,wedding dinner photos, pc fair with heaps of ppl and cramp space is good practice.also mind you, who goes to pc fair and dun buy stuff? i bought some pc parts too and guess wat they have contest for best pic of their brand ambassador...damn i am getting a new camera

Since I'm a photographer, i gonna to say something! I'm a person who don't like to shoot pc fair gal, NO reason for that! From my pov, some of the photographer in PC Fair is doing their job, as in shooting for a magazine, new paper or media purpose. I'm ok with it... they are the pro photographer who sending from company.
By the way, 75% of person who not a professional photographer shooting those show gal, we name them as Men With Camera "MWC" , maybe some is newbie wanna try out their 1.8, 1.4 lens or 1.2 (for the rich one), and showing off their photos by uploading to facebook. but for TFK, i really don't know... haha! ned to do more research of them, some of them i still can accept with respect, some really cannot! aiming here n there... sound pervert, and polluted the whole environment... and some act pro, worst!
from the feedback of the pc fair gals, they mention tat, most of the MWC really LOOK pervert, from judging from their wearing and actions... some of them really annoying ask for number and fb...
IS THAT THE DSLR TOO CHEAP, or the world just have presentable gal in PC fair... still thinking about it!

Most of the time this so-called photographer will give the reason, to improve their skills.. And thats totally bullshi*, why must only cover this sexy model? there are lot of other subject too..
You can go to any photography forum, and look at the portrait and event section, most of the time this section has the most view and the most popular section.. Even the photography workshop, those with sexy model will have the most participate.. So the event promoter will use the theme sexy model, bikini shoot or artistic nude to get all the hot-blooded photographer.
This not only happens in PC Fair, there are lots of other event. one of the best example is Japan GT, you can see all those pervert.. Their main target is not the racing car, but is the GT queen and model..
Hmm interesting view. But then again all guys are secretly perverts (me included). It has been a while tho since I went to take pictures there as I found PC fair to be overcrowded and overpopulated. Last time I went there was due to friends going to the VGL (video games live) that was held the same day, and I took the opportunity to visit the PIKOM room since they are the sponsors for this year's WCG. That was the first time I went there without taking pictures of the Leng Lui's. Too much, too overrated, too obviously being used by the booth owner to promote their booth. and let face it, it's the only reason that they are there.
I miss the old days of PC Fair at PWTC :(
